“Meander through backroads to taste outstanding wines from wineries of the Mt Barker sub-region of the Great Southern appellation; awarded for its Rieslings and Shiraz. This region has a characteristically cool climate with slow ripening times which enables the development of rich flavours and quality grape juice. Barbie Q will join you at lunch and spend the afternoon on tour.

Be entertained by Barbie Q, mingling on tour. Capture photos with Barbie Q dancing on the lawn at Plantagenet Wines, skipping through the vines and playing hide and seek at Galafrey Wines and peeking into the wine-making room at West Cape Howe Wines.

Wine tasting begins at Gilbert Wines, home to the ‘lads’ and is followed by a morning tea/coffee, scone, jam and cream. At Plantagenet Wines meet Barbie Q. Choose your wine and make your purchase to accompany a scrumptious shared platter lunch of local produce. Onwards the tour will take you to Galafrey Wines another family-owned winery and home to prominent female wine-maker Kim Tyrer.

From there to West Cape Howe where you can sample wine from their extensive range, olive oil or their own brand of coffee! Our Albany Tours guide will take care of the skipper duties, whilst you relax and enjoy the scenery, wander in the wild of the Great Southern Wine Appellation and the sensational flavours of the region, and mingle, pose and wander in the wild with Barbie Q.
