Albany Pride Festival

Albany Pride Festival is back for another year!

The Albany Pride Festival is Western Australia’s biggest regional Pride Festival, bringing together the Queer community and their allies from Albany/Kinjarling and beyond.

Albany Pride Festival has been running consistently each year since 2016 (except for 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic), and Albany Pride Festival 2022 is our biggest and best yet (yes, we say this every year, but we’ve really pulled out all the stops for this one!). 2022’s Pride Festival will take place over and between two weekends, from Friday, 18th February to Sunday, 27th February.

Albany Pride Festival continues to bring a diverse range of events so that there’s something for everyone. Over the past few years, the Albany Pride Festival Committee have been keen to incorporate the Arts as much as possible, by bringing theatre shows, music acts, and performances to Albany.

Our immensely popular Pride Fair Day is back for another year, bringing entertainment, stalls, food, and kids entertainment together for a fun, family-friendly day out for all ages. For 2022, we’ve also built upon our inclusion of sport, wellbeing, and fitness activities.

Of course, no Pride Festival would be complete without a fair amount of socialising and partying, and we promise to deliver parties of epic proportions this year.

The Albany Pride Festival gives the Queer & Ally community of Albany/Kinjarling region a time of celebration and visibility, and for those outside of the region, a perfect excuse for a fun-filled, Queer-themed holiday that will showcase the vibrancy and size of Albany’s LGBTQIA+ community, showcase the beauty and attractions of the region, and hopefully, a reason for them to visit Albany/Kinjarling again in the future (and perhaps, even an incentive to be here a little more permanently!).

About Albany Pride

ALBANY PRIDE is a local group offering peer networking and support for people in Albany (and surrounding regions) who identify as LGBTQIA+, their families and friends, all ages, locals and visitors. We aim to provide a voice for LGBTQIA+ people in the Great Southern and foster local support, acceptance and celebration of minority sexualities and gender identities in our community. ALBANY PRIDE is the only acknowledged local service, support or network for LGBTQIA+ people.

We have been operating since 2011, and since then have grown significantly as a voice for LGBTQIA+ advocacy both in the region and beyond. We currently operate an ever-expanding variety of groups that cater to the needs of our diverse Queer community.
